Random Poem

fearing to fail
the hope of a little girl,
a flyer labors to float.

it unravels with a whirl above,
after a graceless twist below,
near the world to hear its words.

to lonely skies it flies
when the speed begins to slow
to elevation’s simple content.

she runs through the field
until she claims a fertile hill
to smile at the color following proud.

her fateful hand guides
its novice to heights
heard in gusts flapping high.

she, too, is a kite
unwinding in virtuous string
keeping home close by.
